BoringRats was acquired in November 2025 after years of compounding growth. The acquirer name is under NDA — my co-founder is available as a reference upon request.
The journey:
- Bootstrapped the product with a small team; I handled all backend, data, and infrastructure
- Built the technical foundation that made the acquisition possible: scalable architecture, solid uptime, and data-driven product decisions
- Kept shipping through due diligence — the platform never missed a beat during the process
What it taught me: a startup is won in the boring years — reliability, observability, and boring-but-solid engineering are what buyers pay for.
